Where we were - Where we are
We've gotten where we are with the help of volunteers and donations. And we Thank them. (We need more though, see How you can help)
- In Defence of Animals donated 1000 brochures
- The Non-profit/Small Business Clinic of Columbia Law School incorporated us pro bono.
- A PSYCHOLOGIST will set up a study on this pilot project to track the changes shown by the children. (We hope to see an increase in self esteem, an increase in empathy, an increase in a sense of responsibility, an increase in a sense of civic duty –– and perhaps a resulting improvement in grades and literacy.)
- Several social workers attended meetings to develop screening criteria for families. We are currently exploring making this small pilot project (about five families) into a part-time field placement for a social work student.
- We have a volunteer bookkeeper
- We have a Volunteer Certified Public Accountant
- We have a pro bono attorney
- We have a shelter that would obtain the dogs for us.
- Some volunteers are willing to do secretarial work.
- A newsletter has been created by a volunteer who also assists us with public relations.
